Libya has released SAS forces regarding to media reports and all was captured by Gaddafi`s rebels in Benghazi this week and believed to journey was for diplomatic resolotuion in Libya and special forces team released safely in Libya, which was landed to Libya on Friday and all had weapons, bombs and passports.
A Geneva-based human rights group also said it was aware that a team of special forces troops had been seized by Libyan rebels, but was unaware of their nationality. The Times report said the rebels took the captive SAS soldiers to Benghazi, the largest city held by the opposition, where they being held. The U.K. Press Association said the SAS intervention had angered some Libyan opposition leaders.
Its not very clear how arrest was happened in Libya and why they was in Libya with weapons and bombs but mission look like is failed by SAS, but its good news all they have been released safely and they will make their ways to UK soon.
British Defence secretary Liam Fox has confirmed that a British diplomatic team is in Libya talking to rebel forces. But he declined to comment on reports that the SAS unit guarding the team had been detained by forces opposed to Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. Interviewed on the BBC's Andrew Marr Show, Dr Fox said there was a "small diplomatic team" in the eastern city of Benghazi.
According to the British Sunday Times, up to eight British soldiers are believed to have been captured as they escorted the diplomatic mission through rebel-held territory in the east of the country.
The mission is thought to have been an initial attempt to contact Gaddafi's opponents ahead of a visit by a senior colleague to establish diplomatic relations, but the SAS intervention apparently angered the rebels. The situation came to light as the battle for control of the country continued to rage and fears grew over the impact of instability in the region on oil prices. But if this was same in UK, believe it might took another month before they have been released.
British Foreign Office and the MoD have neither confirmed nor denied the specifics of the report or make clear comments early this morning but group of arrested persons were reportedly also questioned in Benghazi by a leader of the rebellion. The Sunday Times also reports that opposition officials are trying to hush up the incident so as not to draw the ire of ordinary Libyans today.
