Altinkum holidays and many other Turkish holiday resorts with airports might get effected soon due British Unite union members working for UK airport operator BAA have voted in favour of taking industrial action over a pay dispute. A total of 6,185 staff from Heathrow, Stansted, Southampton, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen airports were balloted, with 74 per cent of those taking part voting in favour of a strike.

Workers at airport operator BAA have voted in favour of strike action that could close Britain's major airports this month. The action comes following a disagreement over wages, with BAA offering what Unite considers to be a miserly one per cent rise. If you are going to flight from Bodrum or Dalaman always check before you had to airport in Turkey.

Unite national officer for civil aviation Brian Boyd explained that the organisation's employees had accepted a pay freeze in 2009 to help BAA overcome difficulties within the industry. "A pay offer of one per cent plus the withdrawal of two payments worth over £1,000 is simply confrontational," he stated.

Mr Boyd added that the recent record passenger numbers posted by BAA were praised by the firm's chief executive Colin Matthews, but that the hard work of its staff has gone unrewarded.

BAA responded by apologising to passengers for the uncertainty caused by the ballot. It added that no dates for strike action have been announced as yet and therefore no flights have been affected.

This strike can effect Altinkum, Bodrum, Gumbet, Marmaris, Dalaman and Alanya in Turkey because busy of the holiday season and everyone needs to get ready for delays and cancellation due strike in UK airports this days.
