Little girl starved to death and many others abused in UK, every year more child deaths in UK, but why? The case of a 7-year-old girl who starved to death at her home in Birmingham was preventable, this definelty what would social services would state, and there were a series of opportunities for officials to intervene, a review into the case concluded on Tuesday. Khyra Ishaq died in an emaciated state in a house full of food because of a harsh punishment regime instigated by her mother Angela Gordon, 35, and her former partner Junaid Abuhamza, 31.
They are both serving long jail terms after being convicted in March of Ishaq's manslaughter and child cruelty charges relating to five other children in their care and control, who were also starved and abused. A serious case review into Ishaq's death found that better assessment and information-sharing by key professionals could have led officials to take action before she died and prevent her however many social services in UK has unprofessional staff and mangement and make life more hard for the many kids. Recent calls to Families Forward in Yorkshire explains many mistakes and most of the time will social services will say that "NO ACTION NECESSARY" do you know why because social service cant find evidence until childs dead.
Many online and national newspapers states that "Those who were ultimately responsible for this crime have now been held to account, but the professionals who came into contact with Khyra and her family accept that they could have done more to unearth what was happening and protect her," said Hilary Thompson, the Independent Chairman of the Birmingham Safeguarding Board.
Ishaq was withdrawn from school by her mother and the review said there was a major flaw in providing safeguards for children who were home-educated. It made 18 recommendations for improvement action from organizations including health trusts, the local council and West Midlands Police. But not just this many others has been effected by social services and families forward services that needs serious attention in UK.
Some of the other national British newspapers stated "We realize that none of the improvements we and other agencies have put in place can bring Khyra back," said Councilor Les Lawrence, head of children's services for Birmingham City Council. "For that we are profoundly sorry. Today's publication of the Serious Case Review clearly highlights the opportunities missed by a number of agencies to intervene in the abuse being inflicted on Khyra by the people she trusted to look after her."
l never forget when families forward stated that "NO ACTION NECESSARY" and this was same with West Yorkshire Police who has been involved with issues but didnt had any knowledge about kids safety and leave the kids with abuser in Yorkshire. But do you know why because if mother is British; social services, families forward and West Yorkshire Police thinks that the kids are safe! This is what is wrong and big mistake because plenty kids might been effected like this and never been in court or media attention. Family Law is not very good in UK and most of the time is all for mothers favor and if you read most of the family law in UK you will know and understand more.
If you think kids been abused or starved to death, just report and save the kids, regardless where ever you are in the World. Save the kids and report, dont let just families forward take care of it or police, raise their voice and make life better for many kids.
