| The Queen officially became Britain's oldest reigning monarch on Thursday, but completely ignored the milestone. At 5pm Her Majesty overtook the record set by her great, great grandmother, Queen Victoria, who died in 1901 aged 81 years and 243 days. However, there were no special events to mark the occasion. The Queen left Buckingham Palace yesterday morning for her Sandringham estate where she will spend Christmas. Victoria remains the longest reigning British monarch, serving for 63 years, but the Queen could break this record on September 9, 2015. |

Sources told Sky News that Ms. Darwin also said the couple's two sons were not involved. "It looks as if I am going to be left without a husband, a home or a family now," Ms. Darwin told the Daily Mail. According to the paper, she was preparing to return home to "face the music," adding, "I don't want to live my life as a fugitive." Ms. Darwin said she didn't know at first that her husband hadn't actually died in 2002, saying "it was years later" that she found out.
