Imaginative Traveller reported that many of the UK's imaginative travellers will be looking to head to Egypt and Turkey in the new year, it would seem. Kate Kenward, executive director at the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO), has suggested that these two nations offer "great value" for Britons.
Indeed, "short and mid-haul" non-eurozone destinations look set to be the popular destinations of 2010 for those flying out of the British Isles. However, Ms Kenward indicated that the most sought-after places for holidays will become clearer in the coming months.
"At AITO we are just about to do our next consumer research programme in association with Wanderlust so we will have a stronger indication when these findings ... come through," she explained.
According to the latest Thomson and First Choice Trends Report 2009, which was published on September 3rd, 80 per cent of Britons expect to take a holiday next year and a similar percentage will not let the recession affect their vacation plans.
However we know that most popular holiday destination was followed by some other resources :
Three holidays resort in Turkey were named with top ten holiday resorts in Europe, and poll was conducted by Thomson which is one of biggest travel agents in UK. With poll Marmaris ranked third, Icmeler sixth and Altinkum Didim was the seventh on the list and most of other resort was Spanish. This survey was complied from many holiday makers with aim to create a good true guide for British tourist who are planning to go on holiday in summer. Five places in Spain made the top ten list, Benidorm, Puerto Sam Miguel, Playa Balanca, Puerto Rico, and Puerto Pollensa was on the list.

The season traditionally begins at the start of June with Space and DC10’s opening parties and finishes on the first weekend of October with the Closing Parties Marmaris is a port city and a tourist destination on the Mediterranean coast, located in southwest Turkey, in the Mugla Province. Marmaris’ main source of income is tourism. While little is left of the sleepy fishing village that Marmaris was just a few decades ago after a construction boom in the 1980s, Marmaris still retains its charm due to the exceptional natural beauty of its location.
The town’s population is 28,660 and is estimated to reach 300,000 400,000 people during the tourism season, when the flow of people reaches critical levels. Marmaris’ nightlife rivals anything on the Turkish coast. It is also a major centre for sailing, possessing two major and several smaller marinas. It is a popular wintering location for hundreds of cruising boaters. There are regular ferry services to the Greek island of Rhodes, and large cruise ships call at the port.
