Twitter, which has studiously avoided offering ad options for its popular micro-blogging site, is getting ready to roll out such a vehicle for marketers. Search Ads on Twitter Twitter is going to be linking ads on the site to search terms in a model that, while not new to the industry, is new to Twitter, according to AllThingsD.

There are some differences in the way Twitter is deploying the model made ubiquitous by Google, writes MarketingVOX. The ads, which will be presented in chunks of 140 characters, will only show up in Twitter search results.

Twitter is also pushing ads to third-party services that hook into its API. This will help the company monetize the 70% of its user base that doesn’t interact directly with Twitter.com, according to BloggingStocks. While Google uses a self-service model, Twitter plans to start with ad agencies and buyers.

At some point in the future, it hopes to use the Google self-service approach.

Twitter has not yet announced a launch date, though it is expected to be sometime in the first half of this year. It is also unclear exactly how the ads will be sold, whether Twitter will use a cost-per-click model or something else entirely.

However we all know that Twiiter has been famoused and popular around the World because of no ads and can you imagine Twitter with Ads and links ? Well lets wait and see because it might be good idea or should Twitter needs to wait little bit more do you think ?
