Google Norway has a brand new Google log today due Oslo Ski vm 2011 and the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 will take place from 23 February to 6 March 2011 in Oslo, Norway, at the Holmenkollen National Arena. This is the fifth time these championships have been hosted in Holmenkollen, having been done previously in 1930, the 1952 Winter Olympics, 1966, and 1982. On 25 May 2006, the 45th FIS Congress in Vilamoura, Portugal selected the Holmenkollen area over both Val di Fiemme, Italy and Zakopane, Poland with a vote of 12 to 4 to 0. These games will coincide with the Holmenkollen Ski Festival as they have previously in 1930, 1952, 1966, and 1982.

Oslo Ski offical states that "We are pleased to invite Norwegian and international media to an official opening press conference for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo (NOR). FIS President Gian Franco Kasper, FIS Secretary General Sarah Lewis, Oslo 2011 Chairman of the Board Svein Aaser, CEO Åsne Havnelid and Sports Director John Aalberg will be present. Time: 23rd of February at 11.00 am Location: MMC, Main Media Centre, Holmenkollen national arena

During the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 you can wander into the world of Edvard Munch at Karl Johan Street in Oslo. 8 spectacular sculptures in snow and ice shaped from Edvard Munch's well-known motifs will adorn the area from the Royal Palace Hill (Slottsbakken) to Spikersuppa. The highest sculpture is 6 meters, and the longest is 18 meters consisting of 120 cubic meters of snow!

A brief presentation of the project will be provided to the media as follows: Time: 23rd of February at 17.00 pm Location: NRK’s ice stage on the Karl Johan street. You’ll find the stage between the National Theatre and the Parliament building. Project manager Ole Morten Rokvam, Chairman of the Board Svein Aaser and the City Council for Culture and Education Torger Ødegaard, will be responsible for the presentation.

In addition, the 30 contributing artists will be present. 3. Official opening ceremony at the University Square Led by the King's Guard and the Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces, a parade of 1700 children, Norwegian mayors and 2200 WSC volunteers will leave the Royal Palace Hill at 18:00 pm, and walk down to the University Square.
