The availability of broadband access could add value to homes on the property market this days. A recent survey by ISPreview.co.uk found that homes with good access to broadband internet may be worth more to potential buyers. The survey found that 69 per cent of UK internet users would be deterred from buying a new home if it did not have a fast broadband connection. In addition, half of users questioned said they would pay more for a property with faster connection speeds than their current home.

Broadband internet access was considered to be "critically important" by 74 per cent of respondents, showing the growing demand for internet access in modern homes. Only two per cent of users said a broadband connection was "not important" at all.

Mark Jackson, founder of ISPreview.co.uk, says an appetite for faster connections is apparent in the UK but this is almost same all over the World and you can always add more details to your properties now with Fast Broadband access.

He said: "Homes that are able to offer this kind of access, especially through the new generation of superfast ... products, potentially stand to gain in value by being significantly more attractive to an increasingly internet addicted population.

Ofcom data from May 2010 revealed that the average broadband download speed in the UK is 5.2 megabits per second. However, only 37 per cent of users surveyed by the website described their broadband connection as "good".

Mr Jackson says the government is committed to improving connection speeds, but its minimum speed target for 2015 is only two Megabits per second.

By 2015, the government aims to have created the best broadband network in Europe, with plans to invest £500 million in internet access provision. Digital hubs will be placed in communities to help connect rural and hard to reach areas. Source - broadband finder
