Rafeal Nadal is the Wimbledon 2010 Champion now,The world number one became the first Spanish man to win two titles at the All England Club and took his overall tally of grand slam crowns to eight. Berdych put a forehand wide to give Spaniard Nadal a two set lead after one hour 28 minutes. The Czech, who defeated six-time champion Roger Federer and third seed Novak Djokovic on the way to the final, started the first set well and took the opening service game to love.

Not wanting to be outdone, Nadal's first serve of the match was an ace and he went on to level the score, untroubled by a shout of "I love you Rafa" midway through the game which brought laughter from the crowd. Berdych, ranked 13th in the world, covered the court well and looked comfortable coming into the net but he lost his momentum in the seventh game as he fell 0-40 behind. Nadal, 2008 champion, converted the second of his three break points, pounding the ball into the back of the court for a 4-3 lead.

He then held his serve to love. Berdych, serving to stay, had some bad luck when the ball clipped the net and bounced back on to his side of the court and from then on the pressure seemed to get to the tall Czech.

He saved the first set point against him with an ace but then put a forehand into the net to give the Spaniard the set in 34 minutes. Berdych, in a white baseball cap, wasted three break points at the start of the second set as Nadal struggled with the swirling wind, in a game that lasted over 10 minutes.

Many people from all over the world watched the game. A forehand winner and an unreturnable second serve from the 24-year-old Mallorcan put paid to the first two before Berdych netted a forehand on the third. After that excitement, the match settled down and Berdych, helped by the restoration of his serve and the support of the Centre Court crowd, matched Nadal blow for blow and until the 12th game when he was broken to love. Berdych, who had not allowed Nadal to get a sniff of a break point during his first five service games in the set, suddenly found himself in trouble in the 12th game when he slapped a forehand long to go 0-40 down.
