Germany is changing the history this days and sends many teams to home from Africa. Germany was a favorite to win this one, it was being built up as a match which could have gone right down to penalties. Many predicted a win for Germany but a scoreline of 4-0 is outrageous and shocking to say the least. Germany scored what was the most important goal in the third minute of the game.
Thomas Muller put his head on a ball that came curling in of a free kick from Bastian Schweinsteiger. The Argentina keeper should have done much better with that one as he let a ball go that was right into his hands. Germany went into halftime with this scoreline. Argentina were the one who had all the possession and momentum before the whistle but they failed to threaten Germany ‘s goal.
Lionel Messi was heavily marked and lost the ball from time to time as the Germans launched into counter. In the second half Argentina started with the same possession football. They spent loads of time in the Germany D but failed to convert it into dangerous chances.
Miroslav Klose who is on the brink of becoming the highest goal scorer in the history of football did himself and Germany a favor after he tapped in a pass from Podolski after he had cut past Argentina’s defense.
If there was any realistic chance for Argentina to change that scoreline then it was erased by Friedrich who scored in the 74th minute to kick Argentina out of the cup. All credit for this goal went to Bastian Schweinsteiger who dribbled past three Argentina defenders before passing the ball to Friedrich.
This goal came in the seventy fourth minute. For Argentina, if there was a player who put his heart and soul into the game inspite all the depression all around him was Carlos Tevez. But all in vain. Mesut Ozil was again puts his fingers to goals again and put smiles on Merker in Africa World Cup 2010 games.
Germany ended all doubts( if there still were any) in the final minute of the game as Klose stepped close’ to his goal scoring summit. Podolski’s boss to Ozil was beautifully crossed in to Klose who put his foot onto it to the delight of the German Chancellor and Michael Ballack who made a part of the audience.
The game ended Germany 4-0 Argentina and first half of Paraguay 0 Spain 0 now but dont forget we have another 45 min to go and keep your here for other results now.
