Britain’s Premier Gordon Brown stated once more that his government fully bolsters Turkey’s European Union membership. “Labor Friends of Turkey” has celebrated its third anniversary with a reception in the British Parliament.
Delivering a speech here, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown thanked Turkish citizens living in Britain for their contributions to the British society.
Noting that his government backs Turkey’s EU bid, Brown added that they will do whatever necessary for this intention.
Gordon Brown said they will touch on stability and sustainability in Turkey-European Union relations, and world peace and stability subjects during Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdo?an’s Britain visit.
British Foreign Minister David Miliband for his part said Turkey-Britain relations have been passing through a great transformation since 1997.
Miliband further noted that Turkey is an important trademark for the European Union.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will travel to London on March 15 to attend the Turkey-Britain Business Forum. Erdogan’s 2-day visit takes place upon an invitation by British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, the Prime Ministry Press Center said in a statement.
Turkish State Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Cemil Cicek, State Minister for Foreign Trade Zafer Caglayan, State Minister & Chief Negotiator for EU talks Egemen Bagis, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and some parliamentarians will accompany Erdogan during the visit.
Turkish-British relations, Turkey’s accession process to the European Union, the Cyprus question as well as regional and international matters will be discussed at the meeting, the statement said.
Erdogan will also address leading businessmen of the two countries during the Turkey-Britain Business Forum.
