The British are becoming more adventurous as they seek the right location for their overseas property purchase”, says Suleyman Akbay, MD of Oceanwide Properties specialists in property sales along Turkey’s Mediterranean coast. “Buyers are becoming far more discerning and often moving away now from obvious holiday resorts and realising that Turkey is a very large country with a superb Mediterranean coastline of hundreds of miles offering a real choice of locations in which to invest, find a retirement home, holiday let or just a 2nd home for all the family.”

The Turkish General Directorate of Land Registry shows 32,000 UK buyers are investing in Turkish properties enticed by the wonderful weather, friendly people, relaxed lifestyle, excellent infrastructure, good medical care, wide choice of flights from the region’s many international airports and of course, superb value for money properties.

“You can buy a one bedroom apartment in a modern complex from as little as £35,000 and a four bedroom detached villa with private pool from around £130,000”, says Suleyman. “With property prices rising around 7% per annum along the coast it is also proving an excellent investment.”
