The number of Syrian refugees stationed in Turkey has exceeded 10,000. Media reports say the refugees receive food and other bare necessities as well as some electronic equipment such as washing machines and even TV sets.
Hollywood star Angelina Jolie who is also a goodwill ambassador for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees has recently visited one of the camps.
The situation in Syria has been volatile since March this year.
Encouraged by similar events in other North African countries, the Syrians have been demanding the resignation of President Bashar al-Assad.
Reports say over 1,400 people fell victim of the clashes between the rebels and the government troops in Syria.
