Holiday in Altinkum Turkey

Hi, I have just returned from hol in altinkum with my family. It is a beautiful place and we would definately want to return to the lovely villa where we stayed except for the level of litter everywhere, which really surprised us as the previous three times we have been to Turkey, all on the Med side, we have always remarked how clean it is.  It's such a shame that Altinkum's beautiful sands are spoiled by being covered with rubbish.

The beaches are what draw people there, but then you find that they are dirty and unattractive. We went twice to the beach then stayed by the pool.  Even the sea was full of rubbish so we couldn`t swim for fear of treading on broken glass. We just cant understand why it has been allowed to get this bad, especially with it being such a popular tourist resort.

It is important, if Altinkum wants people to come back and to recommend it to friends and family, that they clean up the mess. We would love to come to Altinkum again, but are not going to choose it over a clean resort such as Icemeler or Cesme even though they dont have Altinkums golden sands.

A further point is the stray dogs. It is very unnerving having so many wild dogs roaming about.  On more than one occasion, they frightened people fighting in the street. One dog had its side ripped by another dog right in front of us, and we heard of several incidents of them attacking children. They need to be taken off the streets and found homes or put down.

On a more positive note, we had a fantastic holiday, the kids swam with the dolphins at Kusadasi Waterpark, which was an amazing experience for them, and the local people are very friendly. Especially the staff in Your Choice and Buzz Bar ! 03/08/08 Altinkum Didim Today News
