As a property owner and regular visitor to Altinkum I am totally dismayed at the poor rubbish control around the resort. Foul smelling bins next to restaurants, overflowing metalbins / not enough bins to cope, people searching through bins and throwing rubbish about, rubbish strewn across fields all contribute to spoiling this lovely resort.
Tourism is extremely important to the area and this is deterring tourists from coming back and im sure affecting local trade. it 's time the council increase the number of bins on the streets, resite them away from restaurants and set a byelaw that makes it illegal to search through bins.
