Police in Didim Altinkum say they have captured a man suspected of killing an 8 year old girl in western Germany. The police say the 29 year old suspect was arrested on a German warrant Tuesday night 10th Feb in the Aegean town of Didim. The Turkish suspect is identified only as Ali K. The man appeared before a court in Didim Wednesday which charged him with murder and ordered him jailed pending the outcome of a trial.
Police in Turkey say they have captured a man suspected of killing an 8 year old girl in western Germany. The police say the 29-year-old suspect was arrested on a German warrant Tuesday night in the Aegean town of Didim. The Turkish suspect is identified only as Ali K.
The man appeared before a court in Didim Wednesday which charged him with murder and ordered him jailed pending the outcome of a trial. However Ali K rejected accusations that he killed the girl during questioning by court officials.
The suspect's father in law is quoted by Dogan News Agency Video as saying the suspect surrendered to police when they found him.
The girl was of Turkish heritage and lived in the same building as Ali K. in Germany. Her body was found two days after she disappeared on Jan. 12. 05/03/09
