The Color of My Paint is a compilation of short stories about the life changing experiences of the author during his childhood. The book is geared towards the enjoyment of young readers from the ages of middle to high school level students.

The book evoked positive reviews by both teachers and students at Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High School. Mr. Todd Doucimo, M.Ed., stated “I feel that it is appropriate for high school students, especially 9th or 10th graders. A Puerto Rico native, Mario L. Vazquez began his teaching career in New Haven, Connecticut. He is an alumnus of Central Texas College, Southern Connecticut State University and Barry University. He is an eight year veteran in the classroom. Mr. Vazquez is a high school Visual Arts teacher and an Art education adjunct professor at Broward College.
