Didim Today

Didim Council gave back to the local community last week in a grand gesture of giving away between six and seven hundred summer kits to the local children. The kits consisted of a Didim Council slogo t shirt, shorts and a kit bag designed to be worn by the children in the summer school period.

The kits were presented by local councillor Mumin Kamaci who was pleased to interact with the local residents. This also gave the public a great opportunity to raise any issues they have and give feedback to the local council on the daily running of the town and facilities. Altinkum Didim Today

The event was attended by hundreds of locals and despite it being so busy the event was run perfectly and all the children managed to get a free summer kit.

The kits are specifically designed for the children to wear at summer school which is a programme run by the local council on a yearly basis. It is mainly aimed at children between the ages of three and fifteen to keep them occupied during the long summer holidays.

The majority of events will be situated at Didim High School and will include a variety of sports such as football, basketball and golf.

This is a great opportunity for the community as it is provided free of charge by the council and also encourages the children to engage in outdoor sports and be taught various sporting techniques. 

Local Councillor Mumin Kamaci was over the moon with how well the event went as it provoked a lot more interest than was originally anticipated and there are plenty of ideas of how to expand this in the future.
