The victims of the Turkish Holiday Villa scam are taking their fight in UK and Turkey
The victims of the Turkish Holiday Villa scam are taking their fight for justice to the governments in both the UK & Turkey. The victims have started a petition to 10 Downing St asking for the sharing of evidence between the 2 countries.
MP's, MEP's, David Milliband the UK foreign secretary, the Turkish Foreign Affairs department, the PSNI & the Northern Ireland Policing & justice minister have all been contacted by the victims requesting the free flow of information between the 2 countries.
The victims are beginning to feel frustrated by the total lack of co-ordination on the case. In Northern Ireland The Police Service continually state that they have made requests to Turkey for information, but get no response.
When the victims were in Turkey it was made clear that the Turkish police and authorities are dumbfounded by these claims and indeed say they have received no such requests, and that they have made representations for information to the Police Service of Northern Ireland and get no response!
"NO ONE is taking responsibilty for this or seems motivated to solving this very important issue. Whilst this stagnation continues our case will be left to gather dust in the PSNI or Public Prosecution Service archives" said one victim.
We hope that by highlighting our case to officials in government that we will get a fair & just trial with evidence from both jurisdictions & ultimately get our money back.
The victims will never give up their fight for their money & justice & we are prepared to lobby whatever government agencies necessary to ensure that our case does not sit on some shelf gathering dust. We would appreciate any help that we can get to ensure that evidence is shared. Anyone wishing to sign the petition can at http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/VillaScam/ 13/06/08 LM
