Brilliant holiday in Didim Altinkum
The beaches were lovely, the restaurants were great value for money and the atmosphere was very friendly and lively. Having young children and being great animal lovers we also got very attached to the 'street dogs'. They began to recognise us and look forward to having their lunch and some affection.
They were extremely friendly and loving. Ive come home and looked into how I can help these dogs especially over the winter months and have been shocked with reports of what happens once the season ends.
The neuter and release are doing a fantastic job, ie preventing further puppies being born, vaccinating them from disease and basically looking after them for the duration of their stay.
Surely this will prevent the spread of 'street dogs' and not by the barbaric methods I have read about. One of the main reasons for returning next year is to see the dogs we became very fond of but is with dread and anticipation as im not sure what their future holds. 23/10/08
Kind regards
