A three-day ‘Made in Turkey’ trade fair will be inaugurated today by Turkey’s minister of trade and industry Nihat Ergun at the Doha Exhibition Centre at 5pm.
This is the first Turkish trade fair in Qatar. It features 200 leading Turkish companies representing all major Turkish industries.
To add a cultural dimension to the event, the Turkish ministry of tourism and culture will send a folk dance group, which will perform, throughout the exhibition.
Stars of the hit Turkish TV show Noor, including key characters Muhannad and Noor, are visiting Doha for the exhibition. Songül ?den (Noor), Kivanç Tatlitu? (Muhannad) and Tuba Buyukustun (Lamees) will meet fans today and tomorrow at the Doha Exhibition Centre.
“Our country is very proud of Noor’s international success. Like the exhibitors at the Trade Fair, Noor is 100% made in Turkey and is a wonderful advertisement for the modern and progressive Republic of Turkey,” Turkish ambassador to Qatar Mithat Rende said.
Annual Turkish-Qatari trade currently exceeds $500mn and Made In Turkey brings together companies in construction, textiles, minerals, energy, transport, electronics, telecoms, tourism, banking, and agriculture.
“Turkish industry has so much to offer Qatari companies. Firmly established as the ‘Gateway to Europe’, Turkey is the world’s 15th and Europe’s 6th largest economy, the bridge between the Middle East, Asia and Europe,” the envoy stated.
