The US diva will take to the talent show’s stage on Sunday 18 October –the first time she’s performed on UK TV for 12 years. The I Will Always Love You singer – who has just made her musical comeback with new album I Look To You and new single Million Dollar Bill – says she can’t wait to sing on the show and revealed that she’s a fan of Simon Cowell.

She said: “I have always loved my UK fans and I'm thrilled to perform for them on The X Factor." “I am also a fan of Simon Cowell's and look forward to meeting him. It should be a fun night." Houston will not be the first major celeb to perform on this series of the popular reality talent show. Robbie Williams and last year’s Winner Alexandra Burke will perform on this week’s results show and Columbian beauty Shakira has confirmed that she’ll treat British fans to a special show at some point this year.
