Shakira has revealed that she was a “plump” teenager and says she doesn’t see herself as a sex symbol. According to the She Wolf singer, she wasn’t born with her amazing physique and she never used to fuss over her appearance when she was younger. She said: “As a teenager I was plump but my appearance wasn’t so important at that time.

 I focused much more on my music and song writing.” Speaking to Germany’s FHM Magazine, the Columbian goddess added: “Over the years I’ve discovered my assets. Honestly, I’ve never seen myself as a goddess or sex symbol.

The 32-year-old sex siren who is as famous for her bootylicious curves as she is for her hit music – told the men’s magazine that despite being one of the most sought-after women on the planet, she struggled to find things she liked about herself growing up and explained that she’s only been able to do a video as raunchy as She Wolf at this stage in her career because she now feels more comfortable in her own skin.

She said: “We all have our insecurities but I used to have more of those days in my twenties. I found nothing satisfied me and I just wanted to hide from the world. “You should always make the most of what you’ve got and I think I’ve tried my entire life to figure it out.”
