George Michael was arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive, after losing control of his Range Rover and crashing into a North London shop. The 47-year-old star was returning from Gay Pride when he lost control of his car and hit a Snappy Snaps store in Hampstead. Michael later pleaded guilty to the charges.
He appeared at a London court for sentencing on Tuesday. The former Wham! star was arrested in July after he crashed into a photographic shop in Hampstead, London, causing extensive external damage.
The 47-year-old was given a six-month interim driving ban after pleading guilty to possessing cannabis and driving under the influence of drugs last month. Michael was sentenced to eight weeks in prison during an appearance at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court today (September 14).
The sentence marks the latest in a series of brushes with the law for the star, who only recently finished a two-year ban for drug driving.
Meanwhile, Michael is scheduled to reissue his debut solo album ‘Faith’ on September 27. The album, originally released in 1987, will be available in multiple formats, including a Limited Editor Numbered Collectors box set.
