According to Aceshowbiz, the celebrity couple who tied the knot in 2006 at a ceremony in Hertfordshire after a whirlwind courtship of 2 years decided to part ways after Ashley Cole’s extra-marital infidelities surfaced.
Their married life went through rocky waters when hairdresser Aimee Walton revealed in a kiss-and-tell interview with The Sun that the left-back soccer player had a drunken one-night-stand with her in January 2008. Glamour model Brooke Healy too alleged that she had sexual liaisons with Ashley Cole in December 2006.
Another former mistress of the soccer pro, Emma Barrett disclosed her sexual intimacy with Ashley Cole to New! Magazine recently labeling him “mundane and boring” in bed. Although the dimpled media darling, Cheryl Cole tried to salvage her marriage she flew to Los Angeles to escape the media and paparazzi as her husband’s extra-marital affairs with as many as five women surfaced in February.
The X-Factor judge’s representative confirmed that the couple is headed for a divorce after she returned from a “head-clearing” trip. According to the lawyers, Ashley Cole might have to shell out 13.5 million pounds to his former wife while a Chelsea club insider revealed that the athlete was “tearful” and “in bits”.
Meanwhile Cheryl will soon launch divorce proceedings for an equal share of their 27 million pounds fortune. Looks like the straying husband is well on his way to becoming an X-factor in the singer’s life.
