| Foreign criminals could still be working in high-security areas at airports because of a legal loophole, an investigation has revealed.All staff working in the airside `restricted zone' of terminals at British airports - including Manchester - have to undergo British criminal record checks, but there are no checks on offences committed abroad.The loophole was first reported by the men in January 2007. But the Department for Transport said today checks of foreign criminal records were still only under consideration as part of an independent review of security announced in December. |
